For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well. --Psalm 139:13-14
God has knit together a third blessing for us - a healthy little baby :) We had our 20 week ultrasound today and it was the most in depth ultrasound I remember. The tech was wonderful and went through every system and explained everything she saw - bones, chambers of the heart, ventricles in the brain, nostrils, EVERYTHING! Everything measures perfect for gestational age (baby overall measured 20 wks 6 days and I am technically 20 wks 5 days) and we could not be happier about it :)
The only slight concern was the placenta location - a little low - so I have a repeat ultrasound in 6 weeks to see if with some growth the placenta moves further up and away from the cervix. If not, it'll be a mandatory c-section, but my doctor said that she's 99.9% sure that it'll be fine - that it's just a matter of weeks before the growth will move it out of "harms way" so to speak. So we're not worrying, just being thankful that the baby is ok and we'll pray for the placenta to move away so we can have another natural delivery.
The baby didn't want to give us a profile shot, and did plenty of kicking during the ultrasound, so we have just a couple photos to share.
First - baby looking at the camera :)
And one sweet little foot :)
We were told to turn away at one point during the ultrasound so we didn't catch a glimpse south of the border, and Adam looked the entire time. He's terrible :) He said he wouldn't be able to tell if he had seen anything since he can barely recognize anything at all during the ultrasound so I think we're safe to say that we are in the dark and will be surprised when the little one makes their appearance.
On one last note - Noah has decided on a girl's name for us to ease our naming burden : Cinderella.
Thank you to everyone who has let me know they're praying for this baby and especially for the ultrasound today - it means so much :)
