.Madi. May 1999-February 2010
My parents got Madi for me when we moved to Indiana. She definitely eased the pain of the mid-high school move. She looked like a toy when I got her - so tiny and so adorable. When I went to college, she slowly became Mom's dog. For the last few years, Madi and Mom were practically inseparable at home. Madi followed Mom into the kitchen, waited at the foot of the stairs when Mom went up, and rode in the car with her. When everyone else focused on Madi's smell, Mom focused on her gentle nature and how great she was around Noah and Jocelyn. She loved that dog.
On Tuesday night, my parents let the dogs outside like every other night, but Max came back alone so they went looking for her. Dad found her - she had been killed by a coyote at the bottom of their yard.
Let's just say it's been a rough few days for us all - especially for Mom. She lost a friend.
You'll be missed, Madi. We love you.

New Kitchen
Adam and I have never really liked the kitchen in this house, but thought it would be too expensive and a waste of money (since we rent) to do anything about it. But when I found a couple awesome and cheap ideas to update it, I realized that we could make this kitchen look completely different and not spend much at all.
So while Adam was at work 3 days in a row, I sanded, primed and painted the cabinets. The hardware came a few days later, and the countertops were next. Here's how the budget broke down:
Sand paper, primer and paint: $30
Hardware: less than $1 each x 22 = about $22 (and these are stainless steel cabinet pulls - a great ebay find)
Countertops: $12.
Here's the before:
Andddddd...
SOO much better.
Side note: we found these hydro pearls at the home show - they are, by far, the coolest little things I've come across in awhile. They come in a small sugar-sized packet, you soak them for 8 hrs and they grow to marble sized and you just stick your plants in them!
These are the lillies Adam got for Noah after her dance recital on Friday....pictures to come :)

Little Mommy...
Ignore the fact that I can't remember which way to hold my phone when I take videos...this is Jocelyn playing with her dolls this morning :) It's amazing how early they learn to be motherly. This is especially interesting because Jocelyn hasn't seen me with a baby - yet she pats the baby's back and everything. I love it. :)

Snow day
I snapped a quick photo of Noah bundled up in her snowsuit from Grammie - then she helped Adam shovel the driveway so we could actually leave our house :)

TREATS
I made some cute snowman cake balls recently - and threw in a teeny cake for Noah to decorate for herself. It was fun times with sugar.
Ignore the CRAZY hair - I think this was post nap or something
And the adorable cake balls :)
