Sleeping beauty

Met the neighbors!

And they were so sweet and I cannot wait to get to know them! We are totally obsessed with driving by the house because they're so busy doing new things everyday! They put in all the windows and doors today (outside doors) and other little things.
Our neighbors mentioned that they finished their house ahead of schedule and it seemed to them that they were whipping right along on ours - maybe we'll be in before Jocelyn's birthday!!

A second floor :)

I had to suppress the urge to run up those steps and scream in every bedroom upstairs. Did I mention THERE ARE STAIRS!!

We have walls!!!

We have a first floor!! I cannot WAIT to see the second floor go up - maybe tomorrow? I'm not sure how fast these things happen but from the looks of the other homes in the neighborhood that are being built they don't waste any time -

video of our talker

Jocelyn definitely talks a lot - she will attempt just about any word you tell her to so she learns words pretty fast. She never did take to signing because she just ended up saying the words instead - fine by me :)
Adam took a quick video of her tonight before bed - this was the second time through this book tonight so she wasn't as interested, we'll have to do a better video to show how much she really talks without being prompted. Also, at one point she points to the door and says "Bed!" - it's because we had already put Noah to bed and Noah came out and Jocelyn was telling her to get back in bed. Ha!

And one more video - Jocelyn usually says "night night weetie" (translation: night night sweetie) to Noah, and of course this is the one time she doesn't say it. Oh well - it's adorable when she asks for a hug :)

Slab!

So I know these posts of the house aren't exciting to most of you...ok all of you. But - this means that the walls go up soon!! The slab is done and we are beyond excited to see some walls go up!

See our front step?? And our beautiful garage?? :) WOOOO - I'm slightly excited.

House progress

The edges of the foundation are in now - the gravel is where the driveway will be. We can go walk in what will be our first floor and it's crazy! It's hard to believe that in less than 2 months it will be finished and we'll be moving in!! We can hardly wait!

The house hunt is over!

After searching through the area for a house, we decided that building was the best option for us. We got a great deal on a house that's in the exact area we want to be in and has everything we were looking for - 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, loft, eat-in kitchen, - I will even have an office! We have been busy deciding on everything from flooring to where we want outlets but the decisions are finally finished and now we just get to sit back and watch it being built. They break ground tomorrow and if the weather cooperates the walls should be up by the end of next week! I'll post photos as I things happen -
here is our lot- it's a corner lot in front of a nature preserve and playground :) Noah's so excited she calls it "our playground" - she is going to LOVE having lots of little neighborhood friends :)

A campfire!

We had our first campfire of the year the other night - Noah has been so excited to have a fire. Jocelyn had missed her nap this day so she missed the fun for an early bedtime. Noah is getting so big!!!
